| Joosk Illustration's Nyan Kyal Say's short film "I Wanna Go to School" is a heartbreaking work of beautiful animation. It shows the obstacles facing children in Myanmar when it comes to attending school. The Bop Htaw Education Empowerment Program trains teachers and role-models to empower education in the classrooms and communities of Southeastern Myanmar. Our graduates have been excellent ambassadors for the power of education and together we are working to provide all children with the right to education. Bop Htaw graduate Lawira Mon is currently a primary school teacher in Mon State, Burma: "I currently work as an English teacher in my community, and I’m using my confidence and intelligence in English to teach my students the English skills I learned as a Bop Htaw student. I strongly believe that English is an international language and a key to help our youth, who are our future leaders, develop our community. Thanks to the skills and practice from the Bop Htaw program, I feel confident in my teaching ability. Now that I have reflected on my current profession, I have decided to be a long-term teacher for my small village because I believe a good teacher is necessary to produce good future leaders.” Great job Lawi! We are very proud of you! Help us continue training teachers and preparing future leaders by making a donation to our fundraising campaign: https://www.crowdrise.com/bophtaw/fundraiser/ Thanks! |
